Irish creative force Boku reminds listeners not to snooze on him as he unveils his latest release on Feel Good Lost, the Sleep EP.

After carving out his career as part of the indie electro-pop duo Young Wonder back in 2012 with bandmate Rachel Koeman, Irish artist Boku has since stepped up with his solo project that began in 2019 to solidify his career in the downtempo, ambient music space. Over the past few years, he’s made his mark with various stunning releases with labels like Sony, Ultra Records, Universal Music Group, and Warner Music. This time, he’s touched down on the Irish imprint Feel Good Lost with a four-track EP dubbed Sleep.

The four alluring tracks from Boku on the Sleep EP also mark his first release of the new year after closing out 2021 with “Epiphany.” The new ambient offering breathes the essence of Boku’s atmospheric, captivating sound. These tunes take listeners deep into their minds to stir up a sensual euphoria.

The EP opens with “Lacuna,” which offers a gentle introduction that swelters with soft piano notes. This tune sets the mood for the rest of the tracks to come by taking the listeners to the clouds with its floaty nature. Following up is the EP’s lead single, “Daydreaming,” a track that swells with drifting soundscapes and tingling instrumental melodies. Delicately arranged, this production brings about a slight nostalgia that takes your wandering mind further into a meditative state.

Next, listeners will be bound to Boku’s heartfelt downtempo creations with “The Bind.” This gorgeous song interlaces a free flow mesmerizing texture, along with ethereal melodies that seem to transcend listeners through space and time. By this moment, you will find yourself enveloped in a deeply introspective state. Closing off the record, “4×4” provides the perfect end to the record as Boku weaves introspective elements that marry some of the most creative atmospheric percussive ones he’s crafted up.

Packaging all the wonderous elements of warmth and a sense of yearning in his sophomore EP, Boku has cemented his metamorphic capabilities to slip in and out of various music genres, all while honing his own personal style. This uplifting and breezy production will serenade you into a gentle state of calm from the very beginning to the end.

Pause all your snooze buttons and listen to Sleep on Spotify or your preferred platform, and stay tuned for more from this burgeoning Irish talent.
