Julian Jeweil Lands the ‘Boreal’ EP on Drumcode

French techno artist Julian Jeweil roars with the release of Boreal, his latest EP to arrive on Drumcode that offers up six fresh techno tunes.

From releasing on imprints like Octopus Recordings and Filth on Acid to taking the stage at some of the top festivals and nightclubs around the world, Julian Jeweil has consistently proven his talents in the techno scene. Over the past few years, this French producer has fostered a home in the minds of those faithful to Adam Beyer’s imprint Drumcode with releases like the Space and Schema EPs. Now, he’s returned for another outing on the label with his latest collection of tunes, the six-track Boreal EP.

Available on all streaming platforms for your listening pleasure, the Boreal EP is another majestic release from the mind of Julian Jeweil that will transport anyone who listens to another place in space and time. For this six-track collection, he’s concocted a soundscape that is teeming with experimental elements and hard-hitting basslines for an overall atmosphere that is dark and hypnotic.

The title track begins this ride into the depths of the techno realm with a kick drum that thuds along and raises your heartbeat with it, yet it’s the sublime melody that will put you in a trance-like state. Soon after you’ll find yourself descending deeper when “Time” arrives on the horizon. This one propels forward with plenty of energy with a proper groove that will get shufflers dancing away in no time at all before Julian Jeweil packs another punch with the weird, warbly “Reverse.”

“Reverse” has alien-like elements found within it that deconstruct the mind as each second ticks away, but don’t fret if you feel like you’ve been abducted because you’re in safe hands with Julian Jeweil. Those thematic elements carry on fully in “Cosmos,” which is a techno tune that you could find yourself vibing to at a rave on the Moon or Mars under the bright night sky.

A quick reboot of the “System” will reveal a track that is Julian Jeweil at his finest with a vocal sample that hypnotizes and a blur of computerized sounds for a peak time track that you can’t help but dance to. Then, he offers up “Minuit” for the finishing blow with another gem that is sleeker than the polished metal of the spacecraft you just took your trip on. Just sit back and let Julian Jeweil blast you off with this one as its melodic nature takes control of your soul during its runtime.

I am very excited about ‘Boreal’ because it really reflects my personal vision of techno music. I am so happy to see it released on Drumcode, a label that I respect very much. They always give me carte blanche when it comes to producing and I am blessed.
