Jon Gurd announces his return to Anjunadeep with his sophomore album, Phoenix, and releases its lead single “Emergence.”

Respected DJ and producer Jon Gurd has wowed fans around the world since first emerging on the scene in the UK decades ago. From playing packed clubs in support of major artists in the scene to his stunning releases that include his debut album on Anjunadeep, Lion, he’s only further proved he’s someone to watch in the scene. Now, after finding some creativity during the lockdown in the UK during the pandemic, Jon Gurd has announced his grand return to the beloved imprint with his sophomore album Phoenix.

Officially due out on April 8, Phoenix acts as a proper second chapter of Jon Gurd’s production story as instead of focusing on themes of loss, much like its name implies, it celebrates rebirth instead. While his fans near and far can continue to salivate over the 10 tracks that are set to be unveiled, one can be heard today to satiate their cravings – “Emergence.” This track sees Jon Gurd flux his production prowess in full as he blends melodies and percussion together to craft up a soundscape that is sure to have anyone who listens grooving away.

Phoenix was written during the UK lockdown last year. When things at home got to a pretty low point I asked myself what is the most empowering thing I can do right now and the answer was to make a new album. I’ve always wanted to make an album called Phoenix. I like the idea of rebirth and coming back stronger after big challenges.
