Kiz Pattison and The Stupid Experts Release 'Back to Back' EP

UK-based DJ and producer Kiz Pattison teams up with The Stupid Experts to release the two-track Back to Back EP on Balance Music.

Over the past decade, Kiz Pattison has graced the dance music scene with some surreal releases in the realms of progressive, melodic house, and techno. Tracks like “Beam Of Light” and “The Key” with Micah Paul Lukasewich have only further showcased the unique style of this UK-based producer as he graced labels such as Selador, JourneyDeep, and Renaissance Recordings. Now, he’s teamed up with Scottish duo The Stupid Experts, who’ve also made a name for themselves in the progressive realm, for the release of the two-track Back to Back EP.

The EP’s title track “Back to Back” starts with twinkling progressive sounds and a deep beat that provokes thought. It features a bassline that growls at the listener and reverberates through the ears with alternating crashes and bangs, fading in and out. The second tune, “Control Our Ideas,” sweeps in to wrap up the release with similar synths but a much different vibe. This one leans more on the meditative side, drawing you in and out with newly layered elements while the vocals from Kiki Cave command you to “open your eyes” as you drift into the progressive abyss.

The merging of these two artists’ styles is a match made in progressive heaven and we can only hope that Kiz Pattison and The Stupid Experts find time to work together again in the future.
