Since its emergence in 2014, Countdown NYE has become one of Insomniac’s staple festivals to occur every year in Southern California to celebrate the end of the year and the beginning of the new in style. Past editions have brought forth some of the best artists in the scene to the stage and for 2021 the aliens announced they’re landing in two new locations in the US, Orlando Invasion and Abduction 2021 New Year’s Invasion in Seattle, as well.

Taking place on December 31 – January 1, this year’s edition of Countdown NYE in SoCal will feature many well-known names in the dance music scene worthy of ringing in the new year such as RL Grime, Afrojack, REZZdeadmau5, Party Favor, Kayzo, and Tiesto. The lineup also includes rising artists such as Kaivon, ACRAZE, Reaper, Jason Ross, and more for added flair.

Gustavo was first introduced to electronic dance music back in 2012 when he first heard Armin van Buuren's hit track "This Is What It Feels Like" play on the radio. Seven years later and he still continues to immerse himself into the scene. Having attended over 30 music festivals, DJ'ing locally at the biggest dance clubs in San Diego, winning a DJ'ing competition against seven other DJs at the House of Blues San Diego and also learning how to produce, Gustavo lives and breathes EDM. His favorite genre is trance, but he enjoys every other sub-genre out there as long as it's great music. Gustavo is a recent graduate from San Diego State University with a bachelor's in journalism with an emphasis in public relations and also minored in political science.
