Chromeo Announces 7th Anniversary of Funk on the Rocks

Chromeo Red Rocks

Chromeo makes their long-awaited return to Red Rocks next May and are bringing Purple Disco Machine and Blu De Tiger along for the ride.

After the global pandemic forced renowned funk lords Chromeo to put the brakes on their annual Red Rocks takeover, the time has finally come to return to one of America’s most incredible venues with a vengeance. Starting way back in 2014, Chromeo has brought their one-of-a-kind blend of vintage disco-funk and cutting-edge dance vibes to the illustrious venue in Colorado and Funk on the Rocks has since become a staple of the venue’s star-studded schedule.

Funk on the Rocks is set to make its return on May 28, 2022, and this time around, Chromeo is bringing one of the most in-demand names in dance music to join the party, Purple Disco Machine. From the main stage of EDC Las Vegas to the underground clubs of his hometown in Dresden, Germany, Purple Disco Machine has maintained his status as a leader of modern dance grooves. He’;l be the perfect fit for Chromeo’s annual funk fest with mega-hits like “Dopamine,” “Hypnotized,” and his latest full-length album Exotica blasting through Red Rocks’ speakers.

Yet the funky fun doesn’t stop there as also gracing the rocks will be none other than New York-based artist Blu De Tiger who will bring her unique blend of vintage soaked soundscapes to Funk on the Rocks. Additionally, special guest Jim-E Stack who has become renowned for his collaborative studio work and more will be joining in as well.

Tickets for Chromeo’s 7th Annual Funk on the Rocks go on sale Thursday, December 10, at 10am MT via AXS. VIP packages will also be available for those looking to make their experience top-notch. Will we see you at Red Rocks for 2022’s funkiest party? Let us know in the comments!

It was a decade ago that Logan Garrison, better known as DJ Lo_G, first took the stage to spin sets for crowds in the snowy towns of Lake Tahoe and Aspen. Originally spinning sounds in the realm of glitch and bass music, he began to develop a passion for all things house as he returned to his hometown and hasn’t looked back since. Over the years, DJ Lo_G has become a fixture in the Aspen nightlife scene as he has found a home at Belly Up and regularly warms up the stage for some of dance music’s biggest artists like The Chainsmokers, Chris Lake, Slow Magic, Nora En Pure, and most recently ZHU. Joining the EDM Identity team back in 2018, he’s dug even deeper into dance music and the festival scene. Whether he’s covering events like Mysteryland and shows in Aspen, interviewing artists like Hannah Wants, and reviewing fresh releases, his passion for the entire community shines throughout.
