Cherry Flavored Antacids spins up the final mix for the Summer Sessions series to keep you grooving well into the cooler months.
While the pandemic was devastating for the industry there were some bright spots as well. The break from the standard hustle and bustle allowed for artists to flex their creative muscles or even start new projects, and that’s exactly what Philippe and Kat did. First meeting on Friendship back in 2018, these two artists come from different parts of the globe but were brought together because of their love for music and passion for renowned French duo Justice. But it wasn’t until they were in the midst of the pandemic that they began making music as Cherry Flavored Antacids.
When the wildfires in Northern California erupted in September of last year and turned the sky to an orange hue that felt ripped straight out of Bladerunner, it sparked an idea in their minds – making a soundtrack to that feeling. Cherry Flavored Antacids’ debut EP came as a result of that day and was aptly title 9.9.20. Featuring five tracks centered that infuse sounds from the realms of electro, synthwave, lo-fi, and more, it’s a fantastic ride for anyone who loves the groovy, experimental side of electronic music.
Since the release of 9.9.20, Cherry Flavored Antacids has gone on to drop an unofficial remix of Myd’s “Born A Loser” while consistently working on new music as well. After spending months in the studio and getting back in a groove with the world reopening, they’ve spun up a mix for the final days of summer that showcases some of their latest pieces of work. This mix is filled with originals, many of which haven’t been unveiled until today – so enjoy!
A lot of our music can be pretty psychedelic and moody, and we set out to make this mix a showcase of our livelier, more energetic side. It takes the listener through a palette of vibes and nostalgic scenes. It’s our hope that our music brings you somewhere. Enjoy the ride.
