Since the announcement of their tour dates this year, ears were eager to know what melodic beauty RÜFÜS DU SOL would have in store for them. Little did they know that their eyes would be in for a treat as well. The second release off of the upcoming album, “Next To Me” captivated viewers with its beautiful A.I.-generated landscapes morphing into one another. Leaving fans eagerly anticipating what creative escape they might experience visually for their track “Alive.”
For the “Alive” music video, RÜFÜS DU SOL looked to provide a breakout from the monotony of life. Created entirely using Epic Games’ Unreal Engine at the direction of James Frost, the music video transports you on a first-person adventure over landscapes allowing you to feel truly lost in the moment while in visual bliss.
The moment fans press play they’ll question how this film could be computer-generated. From floating above mountains with a breathtaking lifelike sunset to zooming through lush jungles all while being at a bird’s eye view, the viewer gets to escape and feel alive. The tear provoking lyrics, “There’s a pain in my chest that I can’t describe, it takes me down and leaves me there. When I talk to the night I can feel it’s stare, it creeps inside and meets me there. At least I’m alive” plus inspiring visual transportation will have one feeling all of the feels and some to share.
This music video once again shows RÜFÜS DU SOL’s love for building an immersive world for their fans to get lost within. An escape when reality doesn’t fulfill a sense of peace. “Alive” is the self-care viewers didn’t know they needed, it’ll leave them feeling refreshed and ready to take on tomorrow.
