Rad Cat Puts Some Bounce in Your Week with a New Mix

Rad Cat spins an upbeat mix for This Is Home that’s full of unreleased edits, IDs, and other selections to start your week off with a bounce!

San Diego-based artist Christian Ariza, also known as Rad Cat, has been making music since he was a teenager. He first learned to play the guitar and was later inspired to dive into production because of the vast realm of possibilities in electronic music. Combining an eclectic taste in music with a forward-thinking production approach Rad Cat has cultivated a sound that has captured the hearts of fans around the world as well as large labels.

A testament to his drive and skill, Rad Cat has received production/remix credits alongside artists like blackbear, Enrique Iglesias, Kevin Gates, Mike Posner, and T-Pain, but his solo releases have been outstanding as well. He recently dropped the heavy-hitting “Diamond” with Gloria Kim on Dim Mak as well as the uplifting and pop-driven “Replay” with Skyler Cocco. The latter of which can be heard in the exclusive mix Rad Cat has put together for our This is Home mix series.

Rad Cat’s masterfully crafted mix is filled with unreleased edits, IDs, and tracks that showcase his tastemaking abilities and musical influences. Packed with everything from disco and futurepop to house and electro, it is a delightful representation of who he is as both an artist and a fan. The mix begins with a plethora of his productions including the uplifting “All Good” before transitioning into an epic medley of a Rad Cat ID v Biggie ID Remix v “All I Do”. The energy is sustained throughout the entire runtime and ends on a funky high note with Future Otaku’s “Flying to Future Funk City” and The Sponges’ “Funked Up” to further evoke some good vibes.

I was born and raised in the beautiful city of San Diego, CA. my family exposed me to a lot of traditional Mexican music. As a kid, I would sing & dance to these Mexican songs and I would play on the toy piano my parents gave me ALL THE TIME.
I think maybe I was always meant to become a musician. I guess the realization finally hit me once I was a freshman in high school jamming to blink-182 songs on my electric guitar.
I ended up falling in love with Electronic music at the age of 16 and would look up to people from San Diego like Ookay doing their thing. It inspired me to learn how to produce.
Now here I am a few years later, a little bit better at making music, pursuing my dreams.
