John 00 Fleming Releases Second Chapter of New Series

After introducing “The Explorer” back in March, John 00 Fleming has unveiled the second chapter in his new series dubbed “The Finding.”

While some DJs look to ignite crowds with fast-paced performances that get feet into a shuffle frenzy, others prefer to take those catching the set on a journey instead. Creating a story through music isn’t a skill that’s easily mastered. It takes time, patience, and dedication to the craft – but the result is something that’s both impactful and memorable. And if there’s one artist in the dance music scene who has proven his storytelling abilities time and time again, it’s John 00 Fleming.

Whether you’re catching one of his performances (we highly recommend his open-to-close ones) or just pressing play on his releases, it’s clear within seconds of listening that John 00 Fleming puts his heart and soul into everything he does. The JOOF Recordings label boss has continued to impress over the years, and after taking a bit of a hiatus to focus on other aspects of life he’s returned in style with a new story to tell.

Back in March, John 00 Fleming delivered “Chapter 1 – The Explorer” to the masses, and a stunning, progressive soundscape was found inside it. Now, he’s unveiled the second leg of the journey with the release of “Chapter 2 – The Finding.” Beginning with an intro that can only be defined as cinematic, a low growl paves the way for its booming beat to take hold of your soul. The low-frequency bass pulses as dark, ominous tones swirl above it to give a foreboding feel before JOOF kicks the track into high gear with mechanical percussion and synths that will captivate anyone listening.

Then, in the middle of the track, The Explorer himself arrives with a vocal to add even more depth to the track. He speaks to his purpose, and the state of society as a whole, as the menacing build-up, swirls in the background. “We think too much and feel too little. More than machinery, we need humanity,” he says before the beat returns in full force to consume your entire being once again.

Those familiar with film history might recognize the speech given by The Explorer in this track (See Charlie Chaplin’s Final Speech in The Great Dictator), but while those words might’ve first been spoken in 1940 they still hold true today. It’s a fitting inclusion for this beautiful tune, and we can’t wait to see what is yet to come in the next chapter of this story from JOOF.
