Laura Greaves becomes the first singer/songwriter to lead a solo release on Circus Records with her four-track Into The Dark EP.

Laura Greaves set off on her journey to pursue a career in music back in 2016 and she hasn’t looked back since. After the release of her debut EP High Tide, which was centered in the world of folk music, she found a home in the electronic music realm with “Fragile.” Working with Khwezi on the tune, it caught the ear of Flux Pavilion who placed it in his Earwax compilation and left fans craving more of her sensational voice.

Now, Laura Greaves has delivered her latest offering of tunes, returning to Circus Records for a solid four-track EP dubbed Into The Dark. The lead single “Psychopath” marked her debut solo track on the label when it landed back in February and saw her reunite with Khwezi along with Lhotse to provide the backing production. Driven by Greaves’ powerful vocals and seductive beat, it helped solidify her as a force to be reckoned with in the electronic space.

Once the darkness has fully consumed souls near and far, Laura Greaves then shows listeners “Star Sign” which continues the descent into the abyss with emotional vocals and its cinematic soundscape in tow. Then, “Cult” arrives soon after blending the worlds of electronic pop and rock to create a track that will amp listeners up as the guitar licks, gritty beat, and vocals wash over the ears.

Taking to Facebook, Laura Greaves offered up some insight into the thematic elements found on Into The Dark: “I have always been interested in true crime and thrillers, in a way it’s comforting to know all the twisted facts so that you can try and avoid the same fate as so many innocent victims, and so gradually it seeped into my songwriting over time and eventually became the theme of this EP.”

The darker tones continue as the EP comes to a close with “Follow Me,” the second single which was released back in April. This twisted tune will have anyone’s mind wrapped around Greaves’ finger as she leads listeners into the netherworld with her raw vocals that pack a punch. Once Greaves has pulled you under, the chances of escaping the dominating grasp she places on the mind are slim to none. Good luck breaking out of that spell.
