Egzod teamed up with Lunis to breathe new life into Swedish House Mafia and Laidback Luke’s classic track “Leave The World Behind.”

While they may have been fairly dormant as of late, there’s no denying that the trio of Steve Angello, Sebastian Ingrosso, and Axwell helped define a generation within the dance music scene as Swedish House Mafia. First coming together over a decade ago, they churned out countless hits and dominated stages around the world, but one of their first hits came in the form of “Leave The World Behind,” a collaboration with Laidback Luke. Now, Egzod and Lunis look to put their spin on the iconic track.

Egzod is a name that should be familiar with anyone who’s been digging into the bass scene as of late. Defined by his vibrant sound on tracks like “Live A Lie,” “Rise Up,” “Lone Wolf” that have found their way onto labels like NoCopyrightSounds (NCS) and Lowly. He brings his unique twist on trap to this new production. On the flipside, dynamic duo Lunis have also made some waves with their releases like “Apologize” and “Zombie,” and singer/songwriter Laurene Bourvon lends her voice to this fresh cut of “Leave The World Behind” to further add to the immersion.

Transforming the house track into one firmly planted in the trap realm might catch listeners by surprise at first, but its melodic style and Bourvon’s voice will put minds at ease before diving into the drop. This electrifying cover will be one that you simply need to add to your collection of tunes this year. And to add even more fun into the mix, Egzod curated a playlist that features other covers and fresh cuts to further help you check out and leave the world behind.

“Leave The World Behind” was one of the first House tracks that made me want to get into making music and DJing back in 2009. It’s a song that is attached to a lot of my great early day memories, and so I wanted to revisit it. Besides, as the world and economy is finally starting to reopen again after more than a year of demoralization, I hope that this song will inspire people to focus on the positive things and keep moving forward with what makes them happy.
