Matroda continues to impress with two fresh singles “When We Were Young” and “Give Me Some Keys” – out now on Insomniac Records.
Matroda has been a name that has become impossible to ignore since first breaking onto the scene and beginning his ascent through the ranks. Back in 2019, he had everyone finding their groove with The Red Tape – Side A EP and further solidified his place with releases on Insomniac Records and his own Terminal Underground imprint in 2020. Now, the Croatian marks his first new tunes of 2021 with a double-sided single “When We Were Young” and “Give Me Some Keys.”
The two-track release from Matroda opens with “When We Were Young.” A title that instantly stirs up memories of raves gone by and harkens back to the early days of the EDM boom. He expertly curates powerful energy throughout the track with strong bass plucks, well-balanced synth pads, and a mainstage ready drop that will instantly ignite a fire in your shoes. This tune is one that should have even the most stubborn of house heads shuffling in no time – it’s a gritty banger with just the right amount of bass.
Then, Matroda asserts his versatility with the piano-laden bop “Give Me Some Keys.” While many piano-house tracks tend to come off a bit cheesy, his mastery of balancing a tech house-rooted kick-snare rhythm with an irresistible breakdown carries the track to glittering success. “Give Me Some Keys” puts his production ability to cater to the more tech house-centric side front and center, and after listening to these two tunes we couldn’t be more excited to finally catch Matroda live when it’s safe to do so.
