AVIRA Delivers Dystopian Yet Hopeful ‘Run To You’ Video

After releasing the Unplugged Mix of “Run To You,” AVIRA and Grace Ackerman drop a deeply moving video to complete the package.

AVIRA has a diverse background, but music wasn’t a key part of his life until an assignment in high school changed that perspective forever. He discovered Tiësto’s In Search Of Sunrise series on a local radio station in Toronto and hasn’t looked back since. After releasing under other aliases, his current one seems to be here to stay and has nicely tied his different styles during his deep exploration of the scene together.

This exploration has culminated with the AVIRA alias finding a home at Armada Music. The imprint has treated him well and he has a very friendly relationship with the man himself, Armin van Buuren, resulting in several collaborations that have stunned. While exploring a more emotional side of his production style he was introduced to Grace Ackerman, and soon after “Run To You” came to life.

‘Run To You’ is probably the most true-to-the-heart record I’ve ever worked on. Music is a weird and fluid thing for me as an artist. When the flow is right, something happens that lets us send a crystal clear message to the audience detailing how we feel and what we want to tell them. That’s how I feel about ‘Run To You’; Grace truly captured the essence of love for me.

AVIRA

Ackerman co-wrote this song a few years back with Bhav Pattani and Hannah Wilson and was simply waiting for the right producer to complete the work. AVIRA finally gave it the home that it was seeking. “‘Run to You’ is the love song of all love songs and means more to me than most,” says Ackerman. “It’s about finding love and support for your partner in the most desperate circumstances when you only have little to give yourself but you give it all away anyway.” It’s a very emotional tune in every way, and Ackerman’s vocals are truly haunting and yet somehow perfectly grounding, too.

On first listen to the Unplugged Mix from AVIRA, I was immediately drawn in and I was left in tears.

I didn’t quite know why I was so moved at the time, but when I watched the video released today, my emotions and realities came crashing over me like a tidal wave. I didn’t make the connection at first, but the video identified so perfectly with a challenging relationship in my life right now. Add the apocalyptic, yet hopeful, video and the connections just grow deeper.

AVIRA must have brought his love for gaming to the production of this video and it works so well. My estranged relationship is with a gamer as well and it all makes sense to me now. Even if I remove all these personal connections this is a gorgeous, lofty tune balanced by the beauty of its melody and rhythm. The Original Mix is absolutely perfect for dancing (and crying) in the club!

Check out the video release now and give it some time to wash over you. I think everyone can find a piece of themselves in this song, this video, and the emotions that they bring. Be sure to listen to both versions on your favorite platform as well – I dare you not to cry!
