After giving fans a taste of Some Nights last month with the release of “Indigo,” Morgin Madison has unveiled the stunning EP on mau5trap.

Although he might be one of the freshest faces to grace mau5trap as of late, Morgin Madison has already begun to win over fans who love the unique soundscapes he creates while in the studio. Over the past year alone he’s carved out some space in the scene with releases on labels ranging from PRGRSSN to Colorize, but there couldn’t be a better fit for his dynamic style found within his latest EP, Some Nights, than on deadmau5’s imprint.

Out now for the listening pleasure of any lover of progressive house with an electro twinge, Some Nights packs quite a punch even if the EP clocks in at just four tracks in total. Morgin Madison begins the EP in a perfect manner with “Velen,” a track featuring mesmerizing soundscapes that will captivate listeners as they set off on their journey into the electronic unknown. Lead single “Indigo” arrives next to continue the exploration of the digital frontier with its ethereal tones and vocal chops that accent the track and take it to the next level.

If you didn’t find your feet moving to the beats found on “Indigo,” then the arrival of “Luna” should do the trick. This track’s bassline carries listeners forward as they’re enveloped by dynamic layers of sound that come in with a warm embrace. If there’s one song that’s perfect for dancing the night away by the beach under the full moon, this is it. Finally, Morgin Madison wraps up the EP with its title track. Filled with its own euphoric soundscape to immerse yourself in, “Some Nights” acts as the perfect bow to this early holiday present and further proves that this Boise-based artist is one to watch in the coming year.

With “Indigo” I began a very specific sound and conceptual workflow. The rest of the EP takes that and runs with it. The Some Nights EP was made almost exclusively in the very late hours of the night, and showcases a sound that I hear as more of a jam-based flow state instead of predictable song chunks, with almost all of the songs passing the 5-minute mark.
