Rodg Dives Deeper into the Progressive Realm on ‘Evocations’

Dutch artist Rodg looks to the memories he’s made in the past to create his third progressive album that’s filled with stunning tunes, Evocations.

Since first breaking onto the scene, Rodg has truly come into his own within the realm of progressive beats. A persistent force in the Armada Music family, he’s graced the stage during editions of A State Of Trance while also releasing some seriously impressive albums and collaborations along the way.

Now, Rodg has set his sights on delivering his latest masterpiece, the 12-track album Evocations that’s landed on Ruben De Ronde’s imprint Statement!. Creating a listening experience that’s best heard from start to finish, each track on the album sees the Dutch artist flex his creative muscle and look to memories of days gone by to generate the immersive soundscapes found throughout the release.

Evocation is the act of bringing or recalling a feeling, memory or image to the conscious mind, and that’s what all those records on the album are to me. They draw from the memories of tours, of shows, of livestreams, of moments with friends or family, of working with friends on music, and more recently, of missing those people. It recalls what inspires me. ‘Evocations’ translates all those experiences – and the energy I take back into the studio – into the music that shaped up to be my third Progressive album.

Tracks like “Do It All Again” with Sarah De Warren, “With You” with Dezza, and “Night Rider” put the progressive style of Rodg on full display as they whisk listeners away within seconds of the track kicking in. But there’s extra depth throughout the album as well with his embrace of melodic house & techno appearing on tunes like “Element” and “Want Love,” while trance emerges from the depths for the closing track “Soundcheck” that sees Rodg team up with Super8 & Tab.

If you’re a fan of deeper, progressive soundscapes then this album is one that you should definitely explore. Listen to Evocations on Spotify or your favorite platform, and let us know what your favorite song off the latest album from Rodg is in the comments below!
