David Starfire and Arula Enrich Our Souls with “Keepsake”

Grant Gilmore
David Starfire Arula

David Starfire and Arula team up with Drumspyder and Jef Stott on a new tune dubbed “Keepsake” to help awaken your inner consciousness.

Global Bass Music pioneer David Starfire and up-and-coming Bay Area artist Arula have been making waves in the scene with their unique stylings in the studio that transport you to a different plane of existence. Now, the two have joined forces for a track called “Keepsake” that evokes imagery of a traveling caravan headed to the depths of the unknown with its mystical rhythms and electronic beats. Adding more power to the release, Jef Stott joins the caravan with his Oud in tow, and hypnotic percussion from Drumspyder keeps the pace throughout.

“Drawing from our unique musical backgrounds we felt inspired to create a track that is both fun and evocative as well as haunting and prayerful, an anthem to the earth that we feel celebrates the dualities of both the masculine and feminine archetypes.

But much like many other artists, the current times we’re living in also helped foster a deeper meaning for “Keepsake.” Reflecting on the track, Starfire and Arula went on to say, “To us, the meaning of the track has evolved, and perhaps become even more relevant during these transformational times we are currently living in. The effects of climate change, income inequality, and prejudices have taken center-stage so that we can no longer turn a blind eye; “we must wake up now” – collectively we are invited to remember why it is so crucial we take radical steps to care for the earth and to uplift one another.”

Listen to “Keepsake” ahead of its full release tomorrow on Amrita Recordings, purchase or stream the release on your favorite platform once it’s officially out, and let us know what you think of this fresh tune in the comments!

Grant Gilmore

Grant Gilmore’s authoritative voice as a media professional lends credibility not common to EDM journalism. As the founder of EDM Identity he has effectively raised the bar on coverage of the past decade’s biggest youth culture phenomenon. After ten years of working for nonprofit organization Pro Player Foundation, Gilmore launched EDM Identity as a media outlet offering accurate informative coverage of the rave scene and electronic music as a whole. Although they cover comprehensive topic matter, they have taken special care in interviewing the likes of Armin van Buuren, Adventure Club, Gorgon City, Lane 8 and Afrojack. In addition to household names, they have also highlighted unsung heroes of the industry through their ID Spotlight segment. Whether he’s covering it or not, you can expect to find Grant Gilmore attending the next big electronic music event. To find out what’s next on his itinerary, follow him via the social links below.
