Dack Janiels Forces a Reboot with ‘System Shock’ EP

Dack Janiels is jolting the bass music scene with some pure electricity by releasing the System Shock EP that’s out now on 40oz Cult.

If you thought that the coronavirus quarantine would mean that there would be a lack of releases in the bass music scene then you’ve been sorely mistaken. Artists near and far have continued to deliver tunes for their fans to lose their minds to and Dack Janiels has joined in on the fun as well with System Shock, a two-track EP out now on 40oz Cult.

It’s off to the races the moment you press play on the EP as the title track delivers a much-needed jolt of energy that Dack Janiels has become renowned for. Pummeling anyone who tunes in with heavy bass wubs, distorted vocal chops, and drops that will have you gripping on for dear life, “System Shock” is the ride you’ve been waiting for.

For the second track, Dack then takes it down a notch with “Bone Skank,” a tune that will immediately take listeners back to the more dub-influenced sound that permeated the earliest days of the genre. A perfect track to put on for the 4/20 festivities if you ask us!

Listen to the System Shock EP on Spotify below or stream the release on your favorite platform, and read on for some insight from Dack Janiels on these two fresh tunes!

“It’s been a while since my last EP so I was super stoked when we came up with the idea to put out these tunes together as a classic two-track release. The title track System Shock is meant to straight-up scare people. What originally started out as me making a little something to open my sets with, later evolved into it’s own full song. With the first song being so “in-your-face” it was a perfect pairing to add Bone Skank as the B-Side…went with some classic vibes as a little nod to the OG stuff that really solidified my love for the genre.”
