GGP and Wave Team Up for Virtual Charity Party [Watch Inside]

Grant Gilmore

Gay Gaming Professionals (GGP) and Wave have joined forces for a Virtual Charity Party that you simply won’t want to miss!

There’s no doubt that the world as we know it has changed due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. People from all over the world have been affected by the outbreak of this virus and we won’t truly know how much of an impact this has had for some time to come. While the music scene continues to grapple with these changes many have flocked to the digital realm to live stream, and that’s where GGP and Wave come in with their Virtual Charity Party!

Gay Gaming Professionals (GGP) is an online community that hosts events annually during major gaming conferences and regularly partners with organizations to provide scholarships for LBGTQ+ who want to enter the video game industry. They’ve teamed up with Wave, a forward-thinking entertainment company focused on virtual entertainment, to host a party in virtual reality.

Running from 6pm – 11pm PDT on Friday, March 27 and 3pm – 11pm PDT Saturday, March 28, the GGP Virtual Charity Party is set to feature some truly unique artists in the dance music scene. Taking the stage in the virtual realm will be DJs like Illuminatty, Ru, TOTC, DJ Scott Marshall, G-Dub, and DiamondDoge to keep you grooving to the beat the entire time.

Additionally, the GGP Virtual Charity Party isn’t just an experience for you to immerse yourself in this weekend – it’s also an opportunity to give back. Throughout the run of the show, GGP and Wave will be collecting donations that will directly benefit MusiCares, a non-profit started by the GRAMMYs that helps keep those in the music industry on their feet during tough times like this.

While you can tune in to the GGP Virtual Charity Party on Twitch below, this experience is best viewed with VR headsets like the HTC Vive or in Desktop Mode on Steam. Make sure you download the app on Steam or Oculus to access VR, and don’t forget to RSVP on Facebook!

Grant Gilmore’s authoritative voice as a media professional lends credibility not common to EDM journalism. As the founder of EDM Identity he has effectively raised the bar on coverage of the past decade’s biggest youth culture phenomenon. After ten years of working for nonprofit organization Pro Player Foundation, Gilmore launched EDM Identity as a media outlet offering accurate informative coverage of the rave scene and electronic music as a whole. Although they cover comprehensive topic matter, they have taken special care in interviewing the likes of Armin van Buuren, Adventure Club, Gorgon City, Lane 8 and Afrojack. In addition to household names, they have also highlighted unsung heroes of the industry through their ID Spotlight segment. Whether he’s covering it or not, you can expect to find Grant Gilmore attending the next big electronic music event. To find out what’s next on his itinerary, follow him via the social links below.
