Jaenga gives us more new music on the LINGUISTICS EP, his second EP on Deadbeats and a follow up to last month’s self-released Primitive EP.

Zeds Dead have been big supporters of Jaenga, and the dubstep up-and-comer is back on their label Deadbeats once again with another massive EP, LINGUISTICS. Featuring five tracks that show off his bass music style that has earned him sets at Electric Forest and several Deadbeats events, this release comes after the Toulambi EP on the label and follows the Primitive EP that he released last month.

LINGUISTICS includes a heavy dose of dubstep across its four original tracks and Jaenga adds a bass house VIP of “SHIVERS” in for good measure as well. The release is full of quality production elements and reaffirms the fact that he has found a place among the most exciting new producers in the bass music world.

Listen to the LINGUISTICS EP on Spotify below, stream or purchase it on all platforms now, and keep reading for a breakdown of each track!

“SLAVE TO THE GRIND” starts off the EP with powerful dubstep wubs and an epic, underground feel.

There’s no one else in the game doing it quite like Jaenga and the first track gets right into the heavy drops that can be found throughout LINGUISTICS. “WILDFIRE” brings a deep bassline and sub bass combined with vocals throughout the track from Charmae. From there, “RUCKUS” takes the EP down a hip-hop route with Cojaxx supplying rap verses over a suspenseful dubstep banger.

The EP closes with the previously released single “Shivers” as well as a bass house VIP of the track.

“SHIVERS” featuring FJØRA is definitely one of Jaenga’s best songs yet, as the track combines dubstep and bass house influences to create a perfect Deadbeats tune. As an added bonus he goes full-on bass house on the “SHIVERS” VIP, giving listeners a remake that’s reminiscent of Jauz‘s most recent tracks. As Jaenga continues his rise in the bass music scene with several impressive releases he’s definitely an artist to keep a close eye on in the new year.

Tracklist:

  1. SLAVE TO THE GRIND
  2. WILDFIRE (feat. Charmae)
  3. RUCKUS (feat. Cojaxx)
  4. SHIVERS (feat. FJØRA)
  5. SHIVERS – VIP (feat. FJØRA)
