After five years of spreading house, techno, and love, Desert Hearts Records continues to bring us all closer together on the dancefloor.

It feels just like yesterday that my friends were first telling me about this ‘fire’ house and techno music label called Desert Hearts. I remember getting sent dozens of links to tracks on SoundCloud that I fell in love with and have since been an avid follower of many of the artists that were discussed. Five years later and Desert Hearts Records has become a thriving music label that has released tracks from the likes of Lubelski, Rodriguez Jr, Andreas Henneberg, Eyes Everywhere, and Latmun among others.

Having started out as just a bunch of friends partying in the desert there is no denying how much community the Desert Hearts crew has created since its inception. Their festival has become one of the top to attend if you’re looking for a weekend full of house, techno, and love, and its clear that they aren’t stopping there. They just recently announced their launch of Desert Hearts Black. A darker, more melodic label that will feature trippy beats and focus more on sounds you would find on the Desert Hearts dance floor.

To celebrate the occasion, Mikey Lion has gathered his favorite cuts from the label’s history.

Clocking in at 40 tracks in total, the 5 Years of Desert Hearts Records compilation is a true testament to their progress and contains some absolute bangers! Their signature sound combination of groove, funk, and house can be heard throughout this tracklist that is full of originals, collaborations, and remixes you can’t help but dance to. Whether its tunes from the foursome of Lee Reynolds, Porky, Marbs and Mikey Lion himself or tracks from artists like Rybo and Cut Snake, there’s something for everyone.

Take a listen to the 5 Years of Desert Hearts on SoundCloud below, grab a copy on Beatport, and let us know what you think of this anniversary compilation!
