C.H.A.Y. has commanded our full attention with the release of his four-track EP, Travel Far, that packs a punch and is full of versatility.

Since first breaking out on the scene, C.H.A.Y. has been leaving a lasting impression on listeners with his unique sound. Influenced by artists like Claude VonStroke, deadmau5, and Daft Punk, his songs have been released on a variety of labels ranging from mau5trap to Toolroom. Now, he’s delivered a fresh EP to become immersed in dubbed Travel Far.

Already catching our ear this year with the release of collaborative track “Shaded” on We Are Friends, Vol. 8 that saw him team up with DeadSpace, this new release is stocked full of electronic goodness. Keeping you listening from start to finish, the EP starts with title track “Travel Far” kicks things off properly with its energetic beat, masterful synth work, and electro elements.

Once you blast off and start your journey into the electronic unknown, C.H.A.Y. brings us all “Into The City” with another stunner of a tune. Creating a larger than life sound on the track, it’s easy to get lost in the soundscape he creates that evokes a big band-esque vibe and makes you want to strut your stuff around town. Completely analog in construction, “Crime” will pummel you into techno-submission with its heavy bassline before ending things with “Floxen” that is a roller coaster of a listen that even features some emotional vocals from C.H.A.Y. himself.

“My EP ‘Travel Far’ takes the driving sounds of techno and electro, infusing dark cutting bass swells, hits, sequences, atmospheres, and rhythms with a balance of melodies in-between. Music has always been a way to escape and reflect on life, and that’s something I wanted to hit on specifically throughout my EP.”

– C.H.A.Y.
