Drift Away with the ‘Intertwine’ EP from ALIGN

Grant Gilmore by Grant Gilmore
June 15, 2019
in New Releases

From the start of the Intertwine EP to the very last beat, ALIGN guides listeners on a journey through blissful soundscapes that will have them coming back for more.

Chicago-based electronic artist ALIGN has been making a name for himself since first arriving onto the scene with a signature sound that his growing fanbase can’t get enough of. Having already delivered some sonic bliss with his previous releases and remixes, he also has taken the stage with artists like Thomas Jack, Loud Luxury, and SNBRN. Now, he’s delivered a new journey for everyone to embark on with the release of the Intertwine EP.

Released on June 12, the five-track Intertwine EP shows off some of the best work from ALIGN yet. Starting with “Embrace,” which was also the third single released from the EP, listeners are thrown into an emotional story as the projector reel and vocal sample evoke those old school vibes to act as a perfect intro. From there, the EP kicks into full gear as it dives deep into ALIGN’s own emotions that range from love and lust to letting go and more as he explores his own place in the world with tracks like “Symmetry” and “Thought Patterns”.

“When we finally started to pull out of the winter and darker times, I felt like I had found the direction I needed to go. Overall, ‘Intertwine’ holds its name because the more I think about things, the more I realize they’re all connected, and well, intertwined. This EP generally represents a range of emotions that we go through as humans, and how they’re all connected to each other in one way or another. The tracks on ‘Intertwine’ are not without their flaws, and none are perfect, but neither are we — I look at these minor pieces as things to embrace.”

Grant Gilmore

Grant Gilmore’s authoritative voice as a media professional lends credibility not common to EDM journalism. As the founder of EDM Identity he has effectively raised the bar on coverage of the past decade’s biggest youth culture phenomenon. After ten years of working for nonprofit organization Pro Player Foundation, Gilmore launched EDM Identity as a media outlet offering accurate informative coverage of the rave scene and electronic music as a whole. Although they cover comprehensive topic matter, they have taken special care in interviewing the likes of Armin van Buuren, Adventure Club, Gorgon City, Lane 8 and Afrojack. In addition to household names, they have also highlighted unsung heroes of the industry through their ID Spotlight segment. Whether he’s covering it or not, you can expect to find Grant Gilmore attending the next big electronic music event. To find out what’s next on his itinerary, follow him via the social links below.
