EDDIE Shows Off His ‘Spiritual Contraband’ on mau5trap

One of mau5trap’s most exciting new artists, EDDIE, has continued his rise to the top with the release of his latest EP, Spiritual Contraband!

Since debuting on mau5trap back in 2017, Australian artist EDDIE has been dropping originals and remixes that continue to keep us coming back for more. Gaining some steam after having tracks featured on We Are Friends 6 and a return on the 7th edition last year, he also has released the Pipe Dream and Bad Habit EPs to much praise from tastemakers and fellow artists alike. Now, he has graced his fans once again with another massive EP on mau5trap dubbed Spiritual Contraband.

Featuring four tracks in total, the party started for this EP with the release of “Numb” late last month that saw EDDIE team up with Canadian singer/songwriter Q’AILA. The emotional vocals work in a symbiotic manner with the glitchy track, giving it an underground, rock-like feel that is simply mesmerizing.

EDDIE wasn’t stopping there though, as the title track of the EP “Spiritual Contraband” was given a world premiere by deadmau5 on the second episode of the mau5trap radio show. The track itself is my personal favorite of the four tracks, featuring layers upon layers of electronic goodness that toy with my eardrums and drive me forward into a bliss-like state.

Rounding out the release are “Abandon” and “Foreboding”, which are both solid tunes in their own right. Bringing electro and progressive elements that are paired with eerie, atmospheric tones, they make for a perfect soundtrack when driving down those dark roads late at night. If you’re a fan of some haunting vocals then “Abandon” is definitely the track for you.
