Coming September 21, Toadface takes things lowdown and dirty with a filthy wobble compilation entitled Bugs For Breakfast. With each of the twelve tracks packing sticky, space-warped grotesqueness, Bugs For Breakfast breaks out collaborations with some of the top tier names in freeform bass. Released on Wakaan and featuring Eazybaked, Of The Trees, and Toadface’s flesh and blood, Yheti, you can expect some delectably slurpy wubs and blips with this new LP.
Toadface, otherwise known as Todd Holler, has been keeping things on the down low. His latest release was a track on Wakaan’s Convoy compilation called “Squad”. A favorite among the freeform bass community, “Squad” is a chirpy tune with electrical chimes and whistles. Bugs For Breakfast diverts from this and delves into a dirtier sound arena, similar to that of my favorite Toadface and Yheti collab, “Brain Waves”. Wave after wave of relentless bass distortion is what makes this track a multidimensional bop, and it’s the perfect prelude to Toadface’s new creation.
