The fun has been cut short on the first night of Das Energi as terrible weather conditions have forced the festival to shut down temporarily.

Update 8/18 12:30pm MT: V2 Presents has released another statement regarding the festival’s status, as well as information for ticketholders who didn’t make it through the gates last night. Galactic Flats beach stage artists Midnight Tyrannosaurus, Quix, ATLiens, and Ray Volpe did not perform and will be booked at a later date in SLC. Due to the short delay of the festival, the timely manner of reopening the gates, and the festival’s rain or shine policy: no refunds will be issued for night 1. Ticket sales tonight have been closed to accommodate those who did not make it in last night.

Update 8/17 11pm PT: V2 Presents have officially announced that Das Energi Festival is back on via the following post on Facebook. The night will be extended until 3am and the Beach will remain closed, but the vibes will still be going full force at the mainstage and indoor stage. Set times and information regarding tickets can be found in the post below!

V2 Presents has officially announced that due to unforeseen circumstances, the first night of Das Energi Festival has been shut down temporarily. With high winds, lightning, and heavy rain in the area, the festival has evacuated the outdoor stages due to safety concerns for their patrons.

The festival will remain shut down until an evaluation can be made about the safety parameters and will re-open if they are met. No serious injuries have occurred at the festival and the official statements from V2 Presents can be found below surrounding the shutdown. This post will be updated with the latest information as we find out more details.

“It is unfortunate and we apologize to our patrons for the unexpected situation, but we are working hard to get the festival back up and running, once it is safe to do so.”
