Woofax takes Moontricks’ “Solar Therapy” from electro blues to melodic liquid DnB in a wistful remix that maintains the soul of the original track.
Moontricks appointed Woofax to take on the role of remixing their soulful 2017 single “Solar Therapy”, also released on Westwood Recordings. Few artists could have done better at keeping the chilled out vibes of the song, whilst infusing an upbeat, uniquely Woofax timbre.
With talents as a DJ, producer, and engineer, Woofax is bound to no particular sound. After holding the reins of former endeavors Terravita, Hot Pink Delorean, and mastering legendary names like The Crystal Method and Excision, he is now well underway in pursuit of his solo career. His scope and style know no bounds.
His recent releases have featured musical flavors from glitch hop, dubstep, funk, and he is now adding more drum & bass to his sonic repertoire. Woofax launched us into the throes of funk with “Spoiler Alert“, got down and dirty with banger “Greazy“, then floats back into clouds with melodic dnb like his remix of Super Square’s “Push”. When remixing a track like “Solar Therapy”, it’s clear that Woofax’s musical prowess is no less than exceptional.
His “Solar Therapy” remix is a chilled out summertime jam swimming in blues, resonating with jazzy guitar licks that flow atop a bed of viscous percussion. It’s as if we’re wistfully dancing into dusk beneath the waning sunlight.
