Watch Snails’ 22-minute-long recap documentary of his epic 2017 ‘The Shell’ tour!
If you love Snails but never managed to catch him on tour last year, now’s your chance! Well, kind of. “Around The Shell” is Snails’ 22-minute-long recap of his 2017 ‘The Shell’ tour and features highlights from various shows, along with behind the scenes footage and interviews with Snails himself. Basically, watching the video is like having an all-access pass to one of the shows from the tour, which is even better than having attended in the first place anyway, right?!
The Shell was both Snails’ debut album and tour and is known for its innovative sound and custom stage design. It also featured genre-defying collaborations with reggae artist Collie Buddz, “livetronica” group Big Gigantic, metal band Cancer Bats, and more. “Around The Shell” offers fans an intimate look behind the man responsible by taking viewers on a journey through the Canadian DJ and producer’s career, from when he was first starting out all the way to the tour. Additionally, it touches on his relationship with Skrillex, how metal has influenced his music, and even includes a brief, trippy clip of an actual snail.
Snails and his mini-festival Sluggtopia will be returning to Red Rocks Amphitheater for Sluggtopia 2 on October 5. You can purchase tickets through his website, so make sure to grab yours before it’s too late!

“Around The Shell” does a great job of highlighting Snails’ personality and appreciation for his fans. Toward the end of the recap, he recounts how he began his career in music and inspires his fans to follow their dreams just as he did. In a comment posted to YouTube, he said:
