Full Crate and The Partysquad Keep Things “Hot” With This Music Video!

If you love Full Crate and The Partysquad’s “Hot”, you’re definitely going to love this music video.

Back in December, Dutch DJs Full Crate and The Partysquad dropped their collaborative single through Diplo’s Mad Decent label. Appropriately dubbed “Hot“, the track brings all the summer feels, even in the middle of January. “Hot” also features LA-based vocalists Nick & Navi who, although newcomers to the music scene themselves, have talent coursing through their veins as their aunt is none other than Jamaican dance legend Shabba Ranks.

Now, “Hot” is back with its official music video that’s, yes, just as hot as its name. As though electing the stunning twins Nick and Navi to star wasn’t enough, the entire video was shot in Caribbean paradise Curacao. Literally, the video was destined to be fabulous from the start.

Watch the official music video for “Hot” on YouTube below:

The track’s addictive beat carries throughout, which is an element of “Hot” that I find particularly refreshing. Rather than spend time building the song up in preparation for one massive drop, “Hot” is more like one giant mini-drop in itself. The simplicity of the beat paired with Nick and Navi’s catchy vocals kept me dancing throughout the entire song, rather than wasting any time anticipating that one main climax.

The fantastic subtlely of the song carries over to the music video as well, which steers clear of any flashy CGI or lasers. Instead, the twins are pictured in a handful of various tropical locations in Curacao. Whether on a boat, on a car, or simply posed amidst some palm leaves, one thing is consistent: their electrifying stares. Seriously, Full Crate could have made these girls pose dressed in garbage bags in a sewer and they would still look beautiful.

Directed entirely by Full Crate who, like The Partysquad, is known for his diverse array of music, this music video is the perfect complement to Hot’s beach party vibes. The track’s reggae-infused melody and drums will have you booking a tropical vacation asap and wishing you were as big of a girl boss as Nick and Navi are. As Full Crate aptly explained:

“‘HOT’ means so much more than just the physical appearance. It’s the power & the beauty of the mind, body and heart of a woman.”

The Partysquad has teamed up with huge players in the music scene in the past, such as Major Lazer for “Original Don” and M.I.A. for “Double Bubble”. Additionally, their Rebel Yard Music is hugely successful and representative of an eclectic array of music that shines through in their work. Along with directing, Full Crate is also celebrated for his diverse musical stylings and collaborated with Trinidad James and Bluey Robinson for his Vogue EP.

Sydney attributes her love for music from her mom, who insisted on playing The Foo Fighters and The White Stripes rather than Kiss FM whenever she drove carpool and agreed to allow Sydney to attend Coachella in the eighth grade as long as she could go with her. That first festival only greater affirmed Sydney’s passion for the scene, but it was not until 2013 when she attended Swedish House Mafia’s One Last Tour concert in Los Angeles that she discovered electronic music. She was hooked instantly and has since attended a total of 23 festivals, with countless concerts in between. Sydney’s favorite artists include RL Grime, Jauz, Jai Wolf, Louis The Child, Slander, Bearson and Big Gigantic but she is constantly on the look out for new music and artists to dance to. When she’s not scouring the internet for new tracks or grooving at a concert, Sydney studies Journalism and Biology full-time at the University of Oregon.
