Insomniac and Exchange LA officially announced their partnership on a new nightclub experience hitting Los Angeles this month!
For those who haven’t been keeping an eye on Insomniac’s latest updates on their social media channels, you may have missed the announcement that came through their channels about ACADEMY. Initially found through a short video pumping out sick beats, the mystery surrounding what exactly it was began to grow.
Over time, the ACADEMY website began to offer more than just social media links to follow and a mailing list to sign up for to get updates. A ticketing link surfaced soon after, as well as posts on social media accounts announcing the debut of the venue over the weekend of January 12-14, 2018!
Officially announced today, we now can confirm that ACADEMY will be taking over the space that has hosted events for twenty years. While Create Nightclub operated at the location over the past few years, other nightclubs like Vanguard and Qtopia are also in the memory banks of those who have been involved in the scene.
The last show at Create, featuring R3hab on New Year’s Eve, would mark the end of an era for the nightclub that played host to many major names over the years. Whether you caught legends like Armin van Buuren or danced away to Deorro, we’d love to hear your favorite moments from shows at the venue!
The grand opening weekend festivities to celebrate the launch of ACADEMY will feature sets from Krewella, DVBBS, and a Basscon takeover with TnT (Technoboy & Tuneboy). Additionally, it has been announced that Benny Benassi will be taking the stage on January 19, and Trippy Turtle’s Last Leg Tour will be hosted at ACADEMY as well on January 27.
ACADEMY is set to feature upgraded sound, lighting, and other production elements to bring an immersive dancefloor experience for those looking for a fun weekend. More details about the specific upgrades and more will be coming soon, so stay tuned!
