Slumberjack have been making waves in the scene and are coming to San Diego this Friday!

The electronic duo known as Slumberjack is made up of Morgan Then and Fletcher Ehlers. Originally they were making music separately until they met at a DJ competition in Perth. Morgan won the 2011 competition, while Fletcher had won the year before. Months later they met again at a music conference and talked about getting into the studio together. Slumberjack’s unique style and sound, using keys, synth pads, and drums during their live performances have really set them apart.

In 2013, their intention was to produce an EP but remain as separate artists. However, they didn’t want it to be confusing on the internet so they called it a project and named it Slumberjack. They entered the Australian electronic music scene in 2014 with their self-titled debut EP, which hit #2 on the iTunes electronic chart. They had no idea what their project would turn into.

Fast forward to 2015, when Slumberjack released “Enigma” (feat. GRRL PAL), a bright and airy track that reached #4 on HypeMachine. Since then they have used their contrasting personalities to develop strong melody-driven songs that have earned them spots at festivals like Lollapolooza, Electric Forest, and HARD Summer.

Garnering support from artists such as Diplo, Skrillex, and Porter Robinson, the duo are well on their way to becoming a “must-see” act. Their impending performance at the North Park Observatory in San Diego is a part of their tour on which they are supporting Troyboi. So scoop up your tickets today and I’ll see you there this Friday!
