On Saturday, December 24th, Avalon Hollywood will be playing host to Psytrance duo Infected Mushroom.
Infected Mushroom, the Israeli-born musical duo, first formed back in 1996; and are now based out of Los Angeles, CA. The two members, Erez Eisen and Amit Duvdevani originally released music under the name of Shidapu & Duvdev, but eventually renamed themselves Infected Mushroom in 1999. Under their new name, the duo released their first album “The Gathering” in 1999, which brought about their initial popularity and put psytrance on the mainstream map. Infected Mushroom’s sound can best be described as Psychedelic Trance, with many influences from hip-hop to drum and bass to rock and electro-pop and everything in between, all while sticking to their musical roots.
Fast forward to 2007, with the release of their critically acclaimed album “Vicious Delicious,” and Infected Mushroom gained immense worldwide popularity. They are quite a prolific duo as they have released 8 studio albums, each varying in sound, and have played massive festivals including Ultra Music Festival, Coachella and Burning Man Festival. Most recently, Infected Mushroom returned to their trance roots at Dreamstate SoCal last month, playing an epic psytrance set that left us stunned. We are excited to see what this duo will bring to the table on Christmas Eve, as their sets are definitely amazing experiences!
