Alesso and Dirty South collaborated on the sensational anthem “City Of Dreams” all the way back in 2012!
Are you ready to catch some serious feels in this week’s edition of Throwback Thursday? The year was 2012 and the vibes from house artists like Swedish House Mafia, Avicii, Calvin Harris, and more had permeated the scene. Before the house scene turned fully big room, things were definitely a lot more uplifting and caused a stir in emotions from all who listened. Alesso and Dirty South were major players in that game, and track “City Of Dreams” was definitely a hit for both old and new fans of electronic music alike. You have probably heard this played out in sets to this day, or even some mash-ups or remixes from other acts like Dada Life or Chuckie, but that isn’t why I chose this track today.
Today, as Insomniac Events announced the 21st Annual Electric Daisy Carnival, hitting Las Vegas this June, my memory was flooded with past editions of the event. While this track is not the only one that truly reminds me of the emotions that come with this massive festival, it is definitely in the mix. Getting a featured slot in the trailer for EDC Las Vegas 2013, this track will be ingrained in the hearts and minds of ravers who attended the event that year. The powerful vocals from Ruben Haze really drive the track home, as you can feel the emotion behind the lyrics.

Everything seems like a city of dreams,
I never know why,
But I still miss you.
There she’s standing in a field of lights,
I close my eyes,
And I still miss you.
Uohooooo Ohooooo
And I still miss you,
Uohooooo Ohooooo
And I still miss you.
Everything seems like a city of dreams,
I never know why,
But I still miss you.
There she’s standing in a field of lights,
I close my eyes,
And I still miss you.
Uohooooo Ohooooo
And I still miss you,
Uohooooo Ohooooo
And I still miss you.
