The seventh installment of her compilation, ‘Annie Mac Presents,’ just dropped yesterday, and it’s filled with her favorite tracks from 2016. Considering her significant role in the scene these past ten years as a tastemaker, talent-finder, and international DJ, we know she’s about to put us in tune with some quality music! Within the 18 hand-picked tracks of ‘Annie Mac Presents 2016’, Annie Mac features a wide variety of artists and genres.
She incorporates loved hits from well-known names like Flume, Major Lazer, and Disclosure, as well as some gems from smaller artists that I got the pleasure of hearing for the first time, all thanks to Annie. My personal favorite discovery was the soulful, beautiful track, “Run,” by songwriter and electronic producer Tourist. I also loved the abundance of fun house music, like “House Work” and “Rinse and Repeat,” keeping me grooving and the good vibes flowing.
