It was October 2nd, 2012 when Zedd graced us with his biggest song yet. “Clarity” was released as iTunes “Single of the Week” and it would have a lasting impact on EDM as one of Zedd’s many chart topping hits to come. At 128 BPM, this is a track that’s perfect for dancing. With the lovely Foxes on vocals, the lyrics entrance you to sing right along with her.
The song has won a variety of accolades over the years. It peaked at #1 on the Billboard Dance Charts. Clarity is certified RIAA Double Platinum (>2,000,000 sales). Not to mention it won a Grammy for “Best Dance Recording” at the 56th annual award nominations. The song made the rounds through a variety of festivals over the next year. As anyone who attended Electric Daisy Carnival 2013 can attest to (even Cosmic Gate played it).
“Clarity” is incredibly catchy, and while not exactly reminiscent of a “love song”, the lyrics might make it an ironic one. One thing is for certain, you’ll always be my Clarity.
