Get "Closer" To The Chainsmokers & Halsey

Have you ever listened to a song for the first time and knew almost instantly it would be a hit? That seems to be a common theme for The Chainsmokers as of late, and this song is no exception.

The artists having been teasing us with this collaboration for weeks. We’ve been sitting patiently (or maybe not so patiently) waiting for “Closer“.. It’s only been a few months since The Chainsmokers‘ previous release “Inside Out”. They haven’t been resting on their laurels however, this song is guaranteed to be a chart topping hit. At this point its almost customary for The Chainsmokers.

The song starts with the vocals of The Chainsmokers’ own Drew Taggart. Opening with a melodic backing track, he lets the vocal cords rip through the first verse and chorus. Just when you think the song can’t get catchy enough, the speakers erupt with the lovely Halsey’s voice and hooks you in immediately. While not nearly as festival driven as their previous chart topper “Don’t Let Me Down” this song has harmonious melodies and a catchy beat that is hard to turn off. The song plays on the college-aged romances that we’ve all never quite gotten over. The lyrics are so playful and inviting that you can’t help but singalong while reminiscing on the lusts of years prior.
