Great new things are on the horizon for a DJ that we all know and love who goes by the name Boys Noize. Between a major tour announcement that will bring him everywhere around the globe, to the reveal of a fresh new music video for his latest track ” Birthday” Ft. Hudson Mohawke and Spank Rock, to the release of his 4th album titled ‘MAYDAY‘ that boasts collaborations with talent including Hudson Mohawke, Polica, Remy Banks, Spank Rock, Benga, and many more, Boys Noize is certainly turning up the volume and demanding that the attention point straight in his direction. Getting his start at the ripe old age of 15, Boys Noize has put his nose to the grindstone to rock out some excellent work landing him on the “Top 10 DJ’s Who Rule The World” list on Rolling Stone, and was even elected “Best Electronic Act” by Beatport 3 years in a row! Gracing the stages of almost every major festival around the planet, Boys Noize has certainly earned his spot at the top and his new track “Birthday” is destined to be another success story for this talented producer.

If you paid close attention you might have noticed that the music video for “Birthday” actually stars the director LIL INTERNET and includes cameos of Venus X and the main man himself, Boys Noize. “Birthday” is a track that can be found on his latest artist album ‘MAYDAY’ which was released just one short month ago. And this album is particularly special because Boys Noize wanted to make a statement by portraying music as a true art form. And after listening to it I have to say that he certainly hit the nail on the head. “Birthday” is just one small example of the artistry that Boys Noize creates through beats and lyrics on ‘MAYDAY’. You can pick up your copy of ‘MAYDAY’ on iTunes.
This is what director Lil Internet had to say about “Birthday”:
“Birthday came together quickly from a simple concept – following someone’s birthday from the end of the night to the beginning of the day, all in reverse. Boys Noize loved the idea, but we were having trouble deciding whose birthday it should be. So when it was suggested for me to both direct and actually be in the video I was just like ‘sure whatever,’ but then of course I got super nervous. My favorite way to operate directing videos is to set up scenarios but then film the reality of what happens in these scenarios, but this was extra ridiculous. Labanna Babalon, who magically ends up being in whatever city I’m shooting in half the time, had a house party where 6 people ended up in the bathtub. I guess that happens, but this time it was all on camera. I kinda still refuse to look at the raw footage. Maybe when I’m old. Also getting a cake smashed in your face isn’t cool because whipped cream gets in your ear. Also if you get shot in the head with a confetti cannon it HURTS, it feels like getting shot with a paintball gun at point-blank range. It was a really fun day though, more fun than real birthdays, maybe I’ll just shoot a music video on every birthday from now on.”
The reveal of the music video for “Birthday” comes fresh off of Boys Noize’s first performance for his all new LIVE show that was held at Barcelona’s Sonar Festival. Interested to see what his performance looked like? Check out a 35 minute clip of the show HERE. And since we are on the topic it looks like Boys Noize is gearing up to be one very busy man this year as his tour takes off with a momentum that can move mountains. My suggestion is if you have never seen him live make a plan to do it this year. He always delivers an amazing show and you will be doing yourself a disservice if you miss out.
