Shortly after releasing his highly successful debut album, ‘Cloud Nine‘, Norwegian Tropical House sensation Kygo released a two-part music video series featuring two songs from the LP. The first video is for his track “Raging” that features Irish rock band, Kodaline and the second is focused on “I’m in Love” featuring Irish singer-songwriter James Vincent McMorrow. The two-part series tells the story of a young couple, and their journey of finding love in each other. It highlights the uncertainty of their tumultuous relationship, and acceptance amidst almost every circumstance.

The director of both of these music videos is Brazilian-born director, Ariel Elia, so it makes sense that the first video for the song, “Raging” takes place in the breathtaking city of Rio de Janeiro. It highlights the roller coaster of emotions the frustrated couple encounters, all while trying to maintain their own personal identity from one another.

The second half of the series, for the song, “I’m in Love”, follows the same couple from Brazil after they have relocated to Paris. The video follows them throughout different parts of Paris. Eventually they end up at a Kygo show, finally starting to realize how strong their love is. They are able to finally make peace with each other, despite all of their disagreements and differences. The sultry, soulful vocals of James Vincent McMorrow fit perfectly with Kygo’s smooth, unique, yet melodic sound.

‘Cloud Nine’ was released on May 13 and has been one of the most streamed albums across both Apple Music & Spotify. Kygo has had several hits such as “Stole the Show” and “Firestone”, reaching one billion plays on Spotify and selling out various iconic venues throughout the world. Be sure to check his new album out if you haven’t already.
