Old school Dutch house, meets cutting edge production, meets tribal flare, with a hint of trap influence is the best way to describe Laidback Luke and Mike Cervello‘s new track, “Front 2 The Back“, out now on the Barong Family label. Laidback Luke is no stranger to rubbing elbows with newcomers and putting out work that instantly lights up the dance floor. This time around, the main stage king has partnered up with Mike Cervello.
Cervello’s debut EP, ‘Smack!‘ has garnered heavy support from the masters of electronic dance music, including Skrillex, Hardwell, and Diplo. He has even put in some work on the remix front for incredibly popular music makers like Don Diablo, Gregor Salto and Wiwek. This isn’t the first time that Cervello has had a musical relation to Laidback Luke, the Mixmash master. In fact, he remixed Laidback Luke and GTA’s “The Chase” a few months ago, igniting the fuel that was needed for this wonderful collaboration to take shape. Today, they are happy to present their brainchild, “Front 2 The Back”.

“Mike is part of the new school with an obsession for that old Dutch sound. I’m very happy the crazy Dutch sound is back. I love Mike’s tracks and I love everything Barong Family does. I’m happy we nailed this one and that we’re putting it out soon!” -Laidback Luke
The track is exciting from start to finish. Ushering the girls to “drop it down low”, the song explodes with rhythm and intensity. It has that Laidback Luke sound that we all know and love but with fresh new ingredients brought to the table by Mike Cervello. Its release on the Barong Family label was the perfect choice for this energy-packed track since the label is known to boast a broad range of styles from club bangers to post-trap EDM, dubstep and bass-filled experiments. “Front 2 The Back” fits right in as it is a combination of all styles blended together to form one hell of a party track. This coming year is going to be a big one for these guys as they continue to work in the studio and deliver more excellent work for us to enjoy!
