Discovery Project Releases is a regular series featuring exclusive music from Discovery Project alumni. The 8th release comes from Bay Area artist Zima with his latest track, “Shadow Play“. Originally from Ukraine, Zima grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. Over the years, Zima has received much praise in his musical career. Successes include a chart topping debut EP titled ‘Picture This’, which hit #1 on Beatport, and coming in first place in the EDC Las Vegas 2014 Discovery Project Contest. After winning the Discovery Project Contest for EDCLV in 2014, he received the honor of being Pasquale’s “act to see” at the renowned event.
He performs with a proper balance of both commercial and underground vibes, and he bucks from the usual trend of the mainstream. His dark and techy influences come out in his tracks, providing a unique vibe that is combined with a traditional four-on-the-floor beat. His latest track, “Shadow Play” is a perfect example of his unique style which is full of rich chords and a great groove.
