With huge hits like “Finally Moving“, “Hot Like Sauce“, and “One Day They’ll Know” it is no wonder Pretty Lights‘ fans have been so eagerly awaiting the release of new music from the master producer. It has been three years since the release of Pretty Lights’ Grammy-nominated album, A Color Map of the Sun, and now Pretty Lights’ fans can rejoice because he (Derek Vincent Smith) has finally unveiled his first original production since 2013, “Only Yesterday“. The track is available for free download on his website and you can also check out the official music video here!
The electro-soul pioneer announced via social media that he would be going in a new direction with his current productions. “Only Yesterday” still has that staple hip-hop influence Pretty Lights is known for, but is driven more by the vocals than the actual beat. It is the perfect teaser for fans because it shows that Pretty Lights has the gears in motion for new and different music. Maybe we’ll even get lucky with an EP or new album in the near future.

The event will return to Telluride, Colorado, for the second year on August 26 and 27. Tickets and information at the Pretty Lights Website.
