As EDM Identity grows, we continue to look for new ways to bring our readers the quality content we strive to produce. There are many different avenues in which we could venture down, but one stuck out more than the rest. I was sitting in the Minneapolis/St. Paul airport after Summer Set Music Festival last August when I realized that the amount of distance that I have begun to travel after attending so many events has increased significantly. When you live in Southern California, you sometimes forget that many people drive or fly very long distances to attend the events we know and love. I began to think about a good way to help our readers in their journey, and how to properly place the segment on the website.
Cliff, our roving reporter who probably travels more than I do, actually helped spur the idea along. When I had been in Europe in the Summer of 2014, I wrote up an editorial piece about my travels and experiences with electronic music in different countries. I noted to myself the struggles that I faced in search of these places, and nothing ever really developed out of it beyond that one piece. Cliff had traveled to New York and did something similar to me, he searched for unique and interesting places that played amazing music. He pitched the story idea to me and we decided to finally develop the new segment of EDM Identity. It took some time to fully develop, but I am proud to officially announce the launch of ID Travel. The segment intends to help our readers travel efficiently, learn about interesting or unique locations around the world, and realize that electronic music is truly a global phenomenon. We cannot wait for you to take a trip with us!
Alongside that announcement, I would also like to announce our EDC Las Vegas Countdown Series for 2016. This year, Insomniac Events will be celebrating 20 years of the Electric Daisy Carnival and we are just as excited for the event as well. We will be hosting a 10-week series that is focused on the event. The #EDC20 Series will be stocked full of interviews, special ID Spotlights, past experiences and more. So keep your eye out for #EDC20 in the title to designate that the article is part of the series!
I personally cannot wait to share these posts with you, and am looking forward to the months ahead! Stay tuned!
