What was your first electronic music event?
My very first electronic music event was when I was freshly 16 back in 2006. I went to see Benni Benassi in my home town. I remember walking in and thinking whoa, this is magical. Everyone and I mean EVERYONE was dancing!
What/who influenced you to attend your first event?
I started listening to it when all EDM was just called “techno.” I was about twelve years old. I remember one of the first songs I heard was “Better Off Alone” By Alice Deejay. When I was younger the “thing” to do on the weekend at that age was to go rollerblading at Classic Skating every weekend and songs by ATB and Benny Benassi would play all night. What really got me into it was the sound of the music. No other type of music gave me this kind of energy. I was hooked.
What is one moment from an event that was special and why?
My first time at EDC Las Vegas in 2011. I will never forget the “moment” after getting through security as we hit the top of the bleachers… Everyone around me including strangers all held hands and started walking down the stairs looking down at the party we are about to endure!
What is your favorite festival or event?
I would have to say Das Energi Festival. Not just being bias because it’s a hometown festival!
What is your favorite electronic song and why?
Kaskade ft Deadmau5 – Move For Me. It is just that feel-good kinda song, you know? From the beat to the lyrics I have the chills just thinking about it.
Who are your favorite artists?
Hands down… Kaskade is my all-time favorite. I have seen this man live about 12 different times and in different states. Pretty Lights, ZHU, Seven Lions, Mac Miller, and Dizzy Wright are all pretty up there too!
What are your favorite genres?
EDM, R&B, and Hip-Hop are in my playlists!
What do you feel your “Identity” is in the electronic music community?
To make people smile. I enjoy meeting new people and at EDM shows… I’m in heaven. I’ve met so many beautiful souls at these shows. Everyone is so friendly and inviting, it’s addicting.
Is there anything else you would like to add about yourself for the readers?
I just want to spread positive vibes and fun energy. I believe you can change someone’s whole day around by giving them a simple smile. Peace. Love. Positivity.
