In recognition of Nocturnal Wonderland turning 20 this year, we here at EDM Identity wanted to visit a track that would have been featured back then and potentially will be played again this year. Let’s jump into the time machine and transport ourselves to a time where vinyl was where the newest tracks were, beatmatching was done by hand, and festivals weren’t quite as big as they are nowadays.
Sam Paganini is an Italian born DJ and producer, gracing us with his “Sexy Groovy Dark Techno” sounds since 1996. Even today, he continues to invoke beats for everyone to lose themselves in dance. Zoe was his first standout hit, reaching up to #47 on the UK Singles charts! [source] Zoe is a wonderful tune, blending in many different elements and paced into a groovy uplifting track. Nearly 10 minutes of bliss, Sam has wonderfully formed a solid beat for dance, and has layered many sounds into one splendid track. It’s wonderful to be able to listen to what electronic music was like before EDM was a genre.
If you happen to be going to Nocturnal Wonderland SoCal this year, Sam Paganini will be performing (and closing out) at the Sunken Garden Stage on the second night.
