John Summit has kicked off a new musical chapter with his long-teased chanthem, “LIGHTS GO OUT.”
Aside from his Britney Spears remix that hit digital shelves in mid-October, the last original John Summit product we received was a collaboration titled “crystallized” alongside German singer-songwriter Inéz that came out last September. Now, nearly five months later, the famous former accountant born John Schuster has unlocked his widely teased stadium stunner of a track, “LIGHTS GO OUT,” on Experts Only.
The new single’s cover art pays tribute to Schuster’s retired career path behind a desk. Driven by a massive earworm hook, Schuster’s latest chanthem signals the start of a bold new chapter in the 31-year-old DJ’s seemingly unrelenting career. And yes, fans can — and should — safely assume this era will culminate into the release of John Summit’s sophomore studio album, the highly-anticipated follow up to his Summer 2024 debut, Comfort In Chaos.
Outside of his new single release, John Summit recently confirmed his upcoming Ibiza residency at [UNVRS], set for every Monday from June 1-27. The residency is designed to spotlight his Experts Only recording imprint, showcasing an exclusive mix of new music, fresh production, and a variety of (still-to-be-named) supporting DJs. “From the moment I stepped into [UNVRS], I knew we had to bring Experts Only there,” he mused in the announcement.
As made evident by “LIGHTS GO OUT,” 2026 will surely unfold into yet another head-turning year for Schuster. The Chicago-bred DJ is in the height of his prime, and he’s doubling down on everything he’s had to offer thus far.
