Above & Beyond delights downtempo and chillout lovers with the first mix compilation to grace the newly-minted Anjunachill imprint.

While most think of electronic music’s energetic, gritty, or powerful side that can be found at festivals and nightclubs to fill dancefloors, other sonic reaches within this realm, like downtempo and chillout, are far more peaceful. The latter is what Above & Beyond and the rest of Anjuna HQ are focusing on with their new Anjunachill imprint. Today, the first mix compilation arrived to give Anjunafamily members a taste of what’s in store for the future of this growing label.

Anjunachill 01 kicks off this imprint’s milestone compilation series, and just as with those for Anjunabeats and Anjunadeep, Above & Beyond has taken the reins to help usher it in. What you won’t find within the tracks in this release, or the label, are the dance-ready grooves that have littered the other two imprints. Instead, these refreshing soundscapes are meant to soothe the soul, ease the mind, release tension, and offer pensive moments to get lost in thought.

Above & Beyond open the near-two-hour mix with “Shall We Begin” before diving into tracks from artists including the likes of Leaving Laurel, Cephas Azariah, Nourey, Redkat, Yotto, Dusky, Croquet Club, and more. While some of these tunes might be familiar, having found a home on previous releases, others, like Ad Harmonium’s “Tintswalo” and “Return,” PROFF’s “Izumo Sunrise,” Planet Of Souls‘ “Afterlife,” are brand new.

From the stunning strings on Catching Flies‘ “Ghosts” to the spoken word vocal on Nox Vahn and Marsh’s “Come Together,” each passing second of this compilation will urge your mind to let go and be at one with yourself. In today’s fast-paced world, it’s more than needed.

We’re excited to share ‘Anjunachill 01’ with you today. Following in the footsteps of our flagship Anjunabeats Volume and Anjunadeep series, Anjunachill 01 is our new milestone compilation – one that reflects where we’ve been and where we’re headed. It’s a celebration of the softer, more meditative sounds we’ve always loved across the labels, and a showcase of the incredible new wave of talent on Anjunachill. We hope you enjoy.
