Even today, Kaskade can’t seem to “Turn It Down” when it comes to his productions.
Five years ago, Kaskade released a track that became a hit which pushed and expanded his brand as a global entertainer and producer. He released the track “Turn It Down” all the way back in 2011, and almost immediately the track turned into one of the quintessential house tunes of the year. The song features an infectious melody that is only enhanced by one of the best bass lines I’ve ever heard. The intro alone is amazing and I really like the progression of the vocals that were perfected by Rebecca & Fiona. The duo provides a melodic current that gives the track a spark and makes the entire song go off without a hinge. Since it has been released, the track has also become a staple song in Kaskade’s sets.
I chose “Turn It Down” for this week’s Throwback Thursday because the song evokes a lot of memories. I originally heard it at a party in college, so it reminds me of the fun parties I went to during those summers, and was my favorite song to play when I played beer pong with friends. I regularly listen to Kaskade’s sets, and am always happy to hear this track featured in them, one of my favorites being the performance at Ultra Music Festival Miami in 2014. It is one of my favorite Kaskade tracks, if not my top Kaskade track of all time. Enjoy!
