Halogenix Releases Breathtaking Debut Album

Halogenix lets his unmatched talent for mesmerizing drum and bass shine on his 13-track debut album, Passions.

For the past decade, Halogenix has been carving out a sound uniquely his own within the drum and bass world. While he’s widely known for his melodic drum and bass contributions, he’s no stranger to the heavier side of the genre and others. He often dabbles in dubstep, whether under his alter-ego alias Lordel or occasionally as Halogenix, like on his massive hit with Strategy last year, “PFTD.”

Just a year following the launch of his label, Gemini Gemini, Halogenix has unleashed his debut album. A collection of 13 soulful drum and bass tracks, Passions features his toddler son’s finger paint as the album artwork for a sweet personal touch.

Halogenix recently took to Instagram to share that he’s a huge fan of vocals over drum and bass, stating that they “add a layer of depth and connection unachievable with anything else.” Passions features two vocal-driven tracks to help reinforce that, “Take Me Away” with Steve Spacek and dBridge and “Satisfy My Soul” with Liam Bailey, both of which are fantastic.

While the vocalist features shine, there are truly no skips on Passions for liquid drum and bass lovers. Standouts like “No More,” “Cut Loose,” and “Souldout” offer unique instrumental elements like xylophone-esque notes and wind instruments. Whimsical distortions and airy vocal stabs make “Reverie” live up to its name as a tune straight from a daydream, while the slowed-down, emotion-heavy closing track, “An End By Any Other Name,” will tug at heartstrings.

Passions is out everywhere now, so be sure to run to Spotify or your preferred platform to hear this collection of gems for yourself.
