Freddy Todd Untaps New Musical Realms on ‘Chaos Hotline’

Freddy Todd creates fantasy worlds within his soundscapes on Chaos Hotline – out now on Memory Palace!

Freddy Todd is no stranger to having fun with his music, and it’s a quality that helps him stand out from the rest. Not only are his sounds enough to wake up a still crowd, but his stage presence provides an elevated energy that attendees can always count on if they need a boost. Being an innovative trailblazer can be challenging, but Freddy Todd diligently executes it with ease.

Freddy Todd is a multifaceted artist with a steadily successful side project with Of The Trees called BLAAP. Within this project’s short span of birth, BLAAP has already made the bills of festivals like The Untz as well as the first-ever DEF Detroit team-up with Memory Palace. His history shows that he is no stranger to stepping up to the plate when duty calls to pave the path to new territories of untapped greatness.

It’s always exciting when an artist as diverse and influential as Freddy Todd announces he has new music on the horizon. His latest work has officially reached the airwaves, and Chaos Hotline is here to prove his unwavering talents once more. Fall into the blissful madness as soft tones live in harmony with punchy beats in a world created by Freddy Todd’s magical mind.

This new album represents what I’ve been on the past two years, with one of the tracks dating back to almost five years ago. Continuously learning new things daily, I still know nothing, and count this 10th studio full length album as just the beginning of a long wave. Thanks to the day-ones for rocking with me and likewise to all the newcomers.

When faced with the opportunity, would you dial the Chaos Hotline?

Imagine existing inside a bubble floating around the world; that’s how magical “Look Too Deep (See The Music)” feels. You feel a sense of peace as you float above, looking down on all that exists below the bird’s eye view. “ICKarus” comes in like a gust of wind to redirect your attention. Bounce along to the tambourine and whistle-infused beat as you take a flight to isolated desert lands.

Just past this desert wasteland, you float your bubble into the tracks “Shadow Of A Torch” and “Sworda,” where untamed chaos pummels your mind with breakbeats pummeling your mind in ways one never knew were possible. Yongi helps Freddy Todd on “Hayzee” as she gently guides you to a calmer pulse. Both of the artists complement each other so well within this track’s love-struck ballad.

Get your dancing shoes ready because the funk is about to be overflowing.

It’s time to get groovy as “Day Of My Life” comes into focus. This funk-inspired jam will inspire happy feet as you shimmy to the irresistible beat. Landing in a dream state again, “Dissonant Dissident” feels as if you’re still floating along in your bubble, except it is filled with water, and you’re swimming with the fishes.

“Sacral Blurr” greets you with an impressive sound design. You can almost imagine the static you hear perfectly as it falls up and down to the frequency-set path. To end the album, “Multishine” brings a bit of all the elements together in one. You have sexy low-end static with drums and a waggish layout that captures the listener’s attention.
