Legendary dubstep artists Skream, Benga, and SGT Pokes will head to The Black Box in Denver for a four-night run of shows in April.
Dubstep has been on a roller coaster ride of its life over the past two decades as it has grown immensely from its formative years in the UK to become a force to be reckoned with at festivals and clubs worldwide. Recent years have seen the genre look back toward its roots as the sound of 140 has taken hold of the bass community. While fresh innovators in the scene continue to shake things up, legends like Skream, Benga, and SGT Pokes have also found their way back into the forefront.
Skream has found his footing in the realm of dubstep once again after exploring his passions for house, techno, and NuDisco during the past decade. One-off performances and surprise sets helped fuel his return, and now he’s fully back in business. This year has seen some major steps forward as Skream and Benga announced Boiler Room performances in Liverpool and London, along with an appearance at Coachella. Now, they’re bringing SGT Pokes along for the ride and taking over Denver this spring as well.
On April 23 and April 25-27, Skream, Benga, and SGT Pokes will take over The Black Box in Denver for a residency that dubstep lovers won’t want to miss. This run of shows in the Mile High City will feature the three artists playing open-to-close, so expect plenty of quality tunes to get rinsed along the way.
The return of these three legends to the stage together is already iconic, but it’s even more of a full-circle moment for the promoter bringing them to town, Sub.mission. Benga was the first international artist that the now-esteemed promoter had ever booked in 2007, and 17 years later, they’re hosting him once again at the same venue that they now own.
Tickets for Skream, Benga, and SGT Pokes’ four-night run at The Black Box go on sale Friday, February 2 at 10am MT. Head to their website for more details and to make your purchase.
